Our Story

Studio 32 is a locally owned salon based out of Louisville, Kentucky in the Highlands. The salon houses two stylists, each with unique specialties including hair-cutting, coloring, and natural hair care.

Tamika Nelson launched Studio 32 on her birthday, the 2nd of September in 2016. The original location was an 80 square foot studio space inside of the Heyburn Building in Downtown Louisville. Tamika worked there for 18 months before expanding and relocating to our current salon space in March of 2018. She has been a top designer and in-salon educator for over 25 years. Her on-going training has given her the opportunity to work one-on-one with an array of educators from around the world. She has trained in New York, California, Atlanta, and numerous cities throughout the Midwest. Her work has been published in Louisville Magazine and has been showcased on billboards around the city. Tamika specializes in hair cutting and natural hair care, has taught multiple classes, and has coached new talent at the beginning of their careers. With more than 25 years in the beauty industry, Tamika is still passionate about honing her craft, learning new things, and staying on top of the latest trends inside the world of beauty!
